Brian Silk’s new single, WE LIVE IN DYSTOPIA, was released on 9th September 2022. Out of respect, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Brian delayed publicising the release which happened automatically across all major music platforms. The track, from Brian’s recent PURE JOY album, is accompanied by a video of the song.
The music is post-punk territory … possibly. Thrashy guitar and driving bass are dominant. Adam Clarkson of Stuart Pearce (band), features on vocals in the chorus.
Lyrically the words speak to the title of the track. “We live in dystopia” sings Brian in a message to the world. AI is redefining our lives, computers are manipulating us, we’re becoming like robots and we can’t even tell what reality is any more. The video is also a twist on the world.
