In a ‘summer of singles,’ Brian releases British Summer on 19 July 2021 – the UK’s new ‘freedom day’ (from Covid-19 restrictions).
Hard on the heels of Loss of Memory, released earlier this month, British Summer is another track that was written and recorded in recent years that Brian in now releasing worldwide.
Brian Silk, “British Summer is an out-and-summer breezy pop song. It tells the tale of a day-trip to Margate, possibly by a group of lads out to have a fun day out.
“Musically, the track has been compared to The Kinks, which is flattering. The opening riff was actually a mistake when I was recording the song, but which sounded better than I had originally intended.”
