I had an idea one morning to record an EP based around the Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer. I wasn’t sure what it sounded like, but I read that it was a major part of acid house music.
From joy to anger
Whereas my 2022 album Pure Joy was an expression of positivity, 303 reasons brings out negative emotions around pain and anger I have felt.
It’s an EP
People have asked me what an ‘EP’ is. It means an ‘extended play’ release: more tracks than a single but fewer than an album (or LP).
Singapore
I wrote the basic parts of all tracks while I was in Singapore in July and December 2022.
